Opmerkingen

Egypt's 50 Piastre notes of this period were produced under considerable pressure from the Central Bank to maintain a reliable small-denomination supply during a stretch of high urban inflation and rapid currency turnover in the early Sadat-to-Mubarak transition years. The sub-pound denominations circulated hard and wore out fast, which means genuinely uncirculated examples from this print window are more elusive than the Pick number alone would suggest.

Two signature combinations are documented for P#55 — Ibrahim paired with Shalaby — reflecting a governor transition within the issue window. Collectors targeting signature varieties should verify carefully, as the differences are subtle and catalog attributions are occasionally muddled in dealer stock.
