Reverse description The reverse is printed in a single olive-green tone and centers on an intaglio vignette of the Maisonneuve Monument in Montreal, the figure atop a tall column surrounded by allegorical figures at its base. To the left, an elaborate cartouche encloses the Arms of Canada coat of arms with the motto DOMINION OF CANADA. To the right, a large ornate guilloche medallion carries the denomination numeral 50. The bank name BANQUE D'HOCHELAGA arches across the top border, and the printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Company appears along the lower margin.
