| Opmerkingen |
Bockswiese-Hahnenklee was a small mining and resort community in the Harz Mountains, and its 1922 Notgeld series was clearly designed with collectors in mind rather than cashiers. The "Liebesbank" — literally "love bench" — refers to a specific local landmark, a bench with romantic associations that was a recognized feature of the spa tourism the town actively promoted. Hanitzsch's involvement signals some artistic ambition; he was a Leipzig-based illustrator with a background in decorative graphics.
Harzer Graphia handled a significant volume of Harz-region Notgeld during this period, and their klischee (relief block) printing process is visible in the slightly shallow impression typical of the method.
