Obverse description Yellow-ochre ground with a decorative border composed of red-and-yellow square tiles printed with traditional Wilhelmsburger Hausmarken (house marks) arranged on all four sides. At centre, a heraldic vignette shows two standing male figures — a fisherman with a sickle and a labourer with a hammer — flanking a quartered shield bearing a lion and cross motif, above a red banner inscribed in Gothic script. The denomination "50 Pf." appears in large red numerals at upper left and upper right, with two columns of text in German Gothic type flanking the central vignette; a band of facsimile signatures runs below the central group. Top and bottom margins carry the legend "WILHELMSBURGER GUTSCHEIN" in bold serif capitals on a dark blue-grey ground.

Reverse description Yellow-ochre ground enclosed within a red ruled border. The central vignette presents a stylised world map in blue line work on a dotted field, centred on northern Europe with Wilhelmsburg highlighted in red; shipping and trade routes radiate outward to cities including London, Paris, Stockholm, Berlin, and Brussels, with continental labels for Nordamerika, Südamerika, Afrika, Ostasien, and Mittelmeer. Allegorical figures appear in the upper corners — a nude figure riding a sea creature at upper left inscribed "SEEFAHRT IST NOT" and a red devil-like figure with a torch at upper right. Two cannon vignettes flank the lower map, and a broad decorative ribbon at foot carries the title "Wilhelmsburg im Weltverkehr" in Gothic script over a patriotic banner inscribed with a verse in Gothic lettering; costumed figures of historical soldiers stand at the lower corners. The serial number "5" appears at right.
