Obverse description Yellow-toned note printed in black and red, centred on a stylised double-headed eagle vignette whose breast bears a shield in red and white charged with crossed bowling pins — the heraldic emblem of the issuing bowling club. The denomination "50 Pf." appears in red within circular cartouches at lower left and lower right. Issuing title and event text in Gothic Fraktur script occupy the upper panel, with a two-line redemption notice and the issuer's name in Gothic script in the lower panel, the printer's imprint running below the border rule.

Reverse description Printed in red, black, and yellow on a cream ground, the reverse carries a central vignette of the Holstentor in Lübeck — the late-Gothic double-towered brick gatehouse flanked by trees with small figures in the foreground — with turned bowling-pin motifs at left and right. The denomination "50 Pfg." appears in bold red at upper left and upper right. A two-line verse in Gothic script runs across the upper panel above the vignette, and a descriptive caption identifying the Holstentor and the Löwenbank is printed below.
