Keglerheim translates roughly as "bowlers' home" — this is emergency money issued by a bowling club in Lübeck, not a bank or municipal authority. German notgeld of the early 1920s was issued by an extraordinary range of bodies, but private sports and social clubs represent one of the more unusual corners of that phenomenon. Gebrüder Hohenschild was a Lübeck printing firm that handled numerous local notgeld issues during the period, which accounts for the relatively clean production quality typical of their output.

The DeNG 2#833.1 reference places this firmly in the specialized Deutsches Notgeld catalog for private issuers.
