备注

Reppen — today Rzepin in western Poland — issued this Notgeld through its municipal savings bank during the inflationary squeeze of 1920, when small-denomination coins had effectively vanished from circulation. The Stadtsparkasse, rather than the town council itself, acted as issuer, which was common among Prussian municipalities that relied on savings institutions as their primary financial infrastructure.

Selmar Bayer was a Berlin commercial printer who handled considerable Notgeld volume in this period, producing notes for dozens of smaller Brandenburg and Pomeranian communities. Nothing about this printing is exceptional — but Reppen's geographic position near the newly drawn Polish border gave even routine local currency an added political charge in 1920.
