| Obverse description | Green and black Notgeld note with denomination numeral '50' in dark corner panels at upper left and right. The upper register bears the Gothic-script title 'Fünfzig Pfennig' in a framed band. The left half of the main field carries the issuing text in Gothic script identifying this as Notgeld of the Stadt Pförten N.-L., accompanied by a four-line verse; to the right is a line-engraved vignette of a half-timbered town building with a church steeple behind it. The lower register shows the serial number prefixed 'Nr.' at left, and to the right the place-date 'Pförten, den 15. Septbr. 1921' with the manuscript signature of Der Magistrat. |
