| 背面描述 | Full-bleed expressionist colour vignette in the manner of a woodcut print, signed 'Kütschau' at upper left. The scene shows two silhouetted figures at lower right reaching toward a large rainbow arc, set against a stylised townscape of Roda with red-roofed buildings and a round tower reflected in a river. A yellow banner at the base carries the denomination '50' in red at each end flanking the inscription in Gothic blackletter. |

Roda — now Rodewisch, though the Thuringian town of Roda im Altenburger Land is a separate place entirely — issued this note during the peak years of German municipal emergency money, when postal shortages and coin hoarding had effectively collapsed small-change circulation. Eduard Giltsch was a respected Jena printer with a long history of quality lithographic work, and Thuringian Notgeld from his press tends to show more care than the hastily produced issues coming out of larger urban printers at the same moment.
The 1921 date places this firmly in the second, more decorative wave of Notgeld, issued as much for collector sale as for actual commerce.
