| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in red, black, and blue on cream paper, with a bold red outer border framing the entire design. The issuer's name appears in two lines at the top in Gothic blackletter script: 'Notgeld der Gemeinde' above the large lettering 'Appen'. The denomination '50 PFENNIG' is repeated in large red numerals at left and right, flanking a central polychrome municipal coat of arms of the Amtsbezirk Pinneberg, rendered in full heraldic colour. Below the arms, two manuscript signatures appear above the printed designations 'DER FINANZAUSSCHUSS' and 'DER COM. AMTSVORSTEHER', with a validity clause in small type along the lower margin referencing the Pinneberger Tageblatt and Lockstedter Anzeiger. The printer's imprint 'KONRAD HANF, HAMBURG 8' is printed below the outer border. |
