Opmerkingen

Tangstedt bei Pinneberg is a small settlement in Holstein, and like hundreds of German municipalities it resorted to printing its own emergency small change during the Kleingeldnot — the coin shortage that gripped Germany from 1916 onward as metal was redirected to the war effort. Municipal Notgeld at this denomination was purely a local transaction instrument, valid only within the issuing community and typically redeemable for a short, specified window before being declared worthless.

The DeNG reference places this within the standard Holstein municipal series catalogued by Dießner. Tangstedt issues are not among the more heavily documented in specialist literature, which makes condition and provenance correspondingly harder to anchor against known populations.
