正面描述 Notgeld issue in gold-olive and blue on cream paper. Left panel in blue bears the city arms of Schneeberg flanked by two miners, with the numeral '50' and 'Pfennig' in black below. The gold field carries the denomination 'Fünfzig Pfennig' in Gothic script above a central Saxon coat of arms within a heart-shaped cartouche on a wavy-line underprint, dated '1921', with serial number below.

备注

Schneeberg, in the Erzgebirge, had been a silver-mining centre since the late fifteenth century — the town's entire reason for existing was extractive metallurgy. Issuing paper Notgeld in lieu of coin during the small-change famine of the early Weimar years carried an irony the locals would not have missed.

The printer, Ratsdruckerei R. Dulce in Glauchau, was a municipal press rather than a specialist security printer, which is typical of the cheaper end of Saxon Notgeld production. Designer R. Römer is otherwise unattested in the major Notgeld literature.
