Beschrijving keerzijde Yellow-cream ground within a teal green rectangular border, the central vignette executed in dark olive-black letterpress showing two male figures in rural working dress — one young, one elderly smoking a pipe — standing amid tall sunflowers and field crops, with a sailing boat visible on water in the middle distance. Denomination panels in dark ink, each reading '50' above a Pfennig symbol, are set into the left and right margins respectively. The upper legend repeats the issuer title, while the lower margin carries a Low German literary inscription attributing a quotation to Gorch Fock.

Opmerkingen

Garstedt was a small Holstein community that, like hundreds of German municipalities in the early 1920s, was forced to print its own subsidiary coinage substitutes as the Reichsbank failed to keep low-denomination metal and paper currency in adequate supply. This particular Kleingeldersatz note — emergency small-change money — was produced by Konrad Hanf in Hamburg, a commercial printer that handled similar commissions for multiple northern German localities during the same period.

The issuing authority ceased to exist as an independent municipality when Garstedt was incorporated into Norderstedt in 1970.
