| 正面描述 | The Imperial German eagle (Type 2) displayed in high relief at center, facing outward with wings spread, crowned and bearing a small heraldic shield on its breast. The eagle is flanked on either side by oak branches bearing acorns and lobed leaves, their stems tied at the base, framing the central device in a wreath-like arrangement. The mint mark 'A' for the Berlin Mint appears at the base of the design, below the eagle. The overall composition reflects the neoclassical engraving style characteristic of Wilhelmine-era German coinage. |

Patterns for the small-shield 50 Pfennig were produced at Berlin in 1903 as part of an internal review of the subsidiary silver coinage under Wilhelm II. The type never proceeded to general issue in this configuration, leaving KM#Pn90 as one of a handful of documented Probeprägungen from that year's design deliberations.
