| Descrizione del dritto | Black-framed note with a central vignette rendered in a fine illustrative style, showing a medieval scene of homecoming and gathering in Freudental, with a mounted procession of figures in Oriental dress among trees, and the Wachsenburg fortress visible in the background on the right. Two full-length figures in turbans and robes, printed in yellow-green, flank the central vignette within narrow vertical panels at left and right. Denomination panels in red at upper left and upper right read '50 Pfg.', with the issuer inscription across the top and three red text cartouches along the lower border carrying the issuer name, scene title, and validity date. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse is printed in a bold palette of black, red, and blue-green, centered on an architectural vignette of Wachsenburg castle viewed through a rounded arch supported by two red columns, with wooded hills and distant peaks in the background. A heraldic shield bearing a rampant red lion on a white and red field is placed in the foreground below the arch, referencing the Drei Gleichen region. Denomination numerals '50' appear in red shield-shaped panels at upper left and upper right, with the castle name 'Die Wachsenburg' inscribed in Gothic script across the top and the regional designation 'Drei Gleichen in Thüringen' carried in a red banner along the lower edge. |

Wachsenburg-Komitee Gotha was one of hundreds of regional committees that issued notgeld during the early Weimar inflationary period, when small-denomination coinage had effectively vanished from circulation. The Wachsenburg itself is a medieval hilltop castle complex in the Drei Gleichen district of Thuringia — the committee name suggests a local preservation or tourism association rather than a municipality or savings institution, which makes this note an unusual product of civic rather than administrative initiative.
Otto Böttner of Arnstadt was a small regional printer active in Thuringian notgeld production, and P. Bandorf's designer credit appears on several pieces from this area. Neither is particularly well-documented in the specialist literature.
