Eisenach's 1921 notgeld series was commissioned through the publisher Robert Dahms rather than directly through a municipal printer — a common arrangement in Thuringian towns where local governments outsourced the design and production coordination to commercial publishing houses. Gebrüder Gotthelft in Cassel handled the actual press work, a firm that fulfilled dozens of notgeld contracts across central Germany during the inflationary spiral of the early Weimar years.
The Dahms imprint appearing on the note reflects the publisher's role in the transaction, not a second printer. Collectors occasionally misread this as dual attribution.
