A central circular vignette, framed by a laurel wreath, presents a full-length figure of an astronomer in 18th-century attire standing on an observatory terrace beneath a night sky with a comet, rendered in blue and green. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large Gothic script to either side of the vignette, with 'Notgeld' at lower left and 'Mündelsicher' at lower right; the bottom panel carries the date 'Lilienthal, den 15. Mai 1921' alongside a serial number and two manuscript signatures. |
