| Opmerkingen |
Eisbergen is a small village in the Weser Uplands, and its cooperative savings and loan bank — a Raiffeisen-type institution — was among thousands of such local bodies that issued emergency paper during the hyperinflationary spiral of the early Weimar Republic. The Notgeld system allowed municipalities, cooperatives, and even private businesses to print fractional denominations when Reichsmark coinage disappeared from circulation through hoarding and melting.
J. & C. Meyer of Bad Oeynhausen handled a considerable volume of regional Notgeld commissions from Westphalian issuers during this period. The reference suffix "1a-3/4" suggests multiple paper or printing variants exist within this single type.
