| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in dark brown, red, and cream on buff-coloured paper, the obverse is framed by a decorative border of conifer branches and pine cones. At centre, a circular wreath-enclosed vignette presents the city gate of Suhl — a two-towered red brick gatehouse with a crossed-hammer-and-pick emblem above the arch, tied at the base with a red ribbon bow. The denomination '50 Pfg.' appears in large red Gothic lettering at upper left and right, flanking the issuer's title 'Gutschein der Stadt Suhl' in Gothic script at left with a quill-pen flourish below, while the validity clause, the magistrate's signature 'Hertwig', and the printer's imprint 'Druck Adolf Forker Leipzig' complete the lower margin. |

The central panel carries a detailed letterpress-style illustration of the Suhl Rathaus, a multi-storey Baroque-influenced building with a mansard roof and cupola set before a small tree in the foreground square, with the artist's signature 'K. Mundt' at lower right. The large numeral '50' in red-outlined Gothic figures occupies the upper portion of each lateral panel, beneath which a two-line verse in Gothic script is set. |
