| Obverse description | A fine beaded rim frames the obverse field, within which the municipal coat of arms of Schmölln is centrally depicted: a Gothic-arched niche shelters a seated Madonna and Child figure above, while the lower register features a radiant sunburst design flanked by decorative foliage emerging from an arched gateway. The legend STADTRAT SCHMÖLLN S.-A. arcs in two segments around the upper periphery, with the issuing authority title to the left and the city name to the right. The date 1918 appears in large numerals along the lower exergual area beneath the shield device. |
