Obverse description This emergency currency (Notgeld) was improvised on the face of a standard playing card — specifically the three of hearts — with two red heart pips visible at the left and right margins. A handwritten ink inscription reading '50 Pfennig 50' runs along the upper edge, while a violet rubber stamp impression bearing the legend 'Gutsverwaltung Lopischewo bei Ritschenwalde' is applied across the face, partially overlapping the card's printed pip elements. The entire piece bears the characteristic hand-cut edges of a hastily produced wartime emergency issue.
Obverse lettering 50 Pfennig 50 Gutsverwaltung Lopischewo bei Ritschenwalde
Reverse description The reverse retains the ornate factory-printed back design of the original playing card, with a symmetrical geometric and floral pattern in red on a cream ground, composed of stylized fan motifs, interlaced latticework, and repeating heart-shaped arabesques arranged in a continuously tiled composition. A faint bleed of the violet rubber stamp impression is visible at the upper right corner, transferred through from the obverse during stamping.
