Obverse description A beaded border frames the obverse, with the circular legend KREISHAUPTSTADT REUTLINGEN running along the periphery. Within a raised inner circle sits the civic arms of Reutlingen: a frontal stag's head with prominent branching antlers, surmounted atop a traditional lantern with a latticed body, all rendered in low relief. The composition reflects the heraldic emblem of the city in a plain, functional style characteristic of World War I German Notgeld coinage.
