A central oval vignette in blue surrounds a detailed line-engraved view of Lübeck's St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche), with the inscription 'MUSTERSCHAU' arching above and 'LÜBECK' below within the oval border. Denomination numerals '50' appear in framed boxes at lower left and right, while the red lower panel bears the validity notice in bold black letterpress: 'NUR GÜLTIG IN DER AUSSTELLUNG VOM 1–11. Lübeck's 1921 Nordische Woche — Nordic Week — was a regional cultural festival intended to reassert the city's Hanseatic identity and Scandinavian ties during a period of acute German national humiliation. The Notgeld series issued for the occasion was as much promotional material as emergency currency, printed locally by Rahtgens and designed by W. Günteritz with the event's cultural program in mind.
The reference DeNG 1/2#0827.1-4/5 indicates this belongs to a set of at least five design variants — collectors typically pursue the complete run, and single pieces trade at a discount against intact sets.
