Aanvullende informatie

Issued in 1918 by the municipal authority of Neustadt an der Donau, this is a piece of Kriegsgeld — wartime emergency coinage produced across hundreds of German and Austrian towns as the Imperial government's metals requisitioning stripped copper and nickel from civilian circulation. Zinc was the fallback: cheap, abundant, and deeply unpopular with the public, who understood immediately what its appearance meant about the war's trajectory.

The Funck catalogue remains the standard reference for Bavarian municipal issues of this type, and the Men18 cross-reference confirms attribution to the 1918 production run specifically.
