Obverse description Central field displays a municipal coat of arms, consisting of a quartered shield with heraldic devices, set within a beaded border. The circular legend MARKTGEMEINDE in the upper arc and NEUKIRCHEN in the lower arc surrounds the shield in Latin characters. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, consistent with the Notgeld emergency coinage style of the early Weimar Republic period.
