| Aanvullende informatie |
Neisse (now Nysa, Poland) issued this notgeld piece in 1921 as part of the wave of municipal emergency currency that flooded Germany following wartime economic dislocation and acute coin shortages. The Kreuzkirche — the Church of the Holy Cross — was one of Silesia's most architecturally significant Gothic structures, and its appearance on local notgeld reflected the strong civic identity Neisse projected through these issues, knowing collectors would hoard them.
The aluminium composition was essentially forced on municipalities by postwar metal scarcity. Funck 360.3d places this within a closely catalogued series of Neisse issues distinguished by minor die variations.
