附加信息

Münsterberg — now Ziębice in southwest Poland — issued this notgeld piece through its municipal savings bank during the currency chaos that followed Germany's defeat in 1918. The Städtische Sparkasse, like hundreds of similar local institutions across Silesia, stepped in to fill a genuine circulation gap as the Reichsbank struggled to produce sufficient small-denomination coinage. Aluminium was the practical choice: cheap, available, and easy to strike in low-volume emergency runs.

The Funck reference places this among the catalogued Silesian issues, a region whose notgeld history was further complicated by the Upper Silesian plebiscite of 1921 and the broader uncertainty over which state these towns would ultimately belong to.
