Münsterberg issued this porcelain notgeld in 1921 as part of the broader German emergency coinage movement, during which hundreds of municipalities turned to ceramics — primarily sourced from Meissen and Thuringian factories — when metal remained scarce and politically fraught in the post-war settlement years. The brown coloration distinguishes this piece from the white-glazed variants catalogued under the same Scheuch reference series.
