| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in deep red on cream paper, the obverse carries the denomination '50 Pfennig' in bold type at each corner within ruled frames. A central circular vignette in the local dialect Westphalian style presents a violin, a coffee cup, wine glasses, and grape clusters entwined with foliate ornament, encircled by the Low German motto 'For Unterhaltungs im'n Rattenweste sorgt stets upp't allerbeste.' Below the vignette, the issuer's name 'Münster-Cafe-Diele Hameln a/W.' is set in decorative Gothic script, with a small text block at the foot stating the redemption conditions and the proprietor's name, Carl Brombach. |

A large narrative vignette occupies the lower two-thirds, illustrating the legendary scene of the Pied Piper leading a procession of children away from the medieval town of Hameln, with a castle visible in the left background; the figure of the Piper in striped costume strides to the right playing his pipe. A stanza of verse (verse 2 of the Rattenfänger song) is printed in red Gothic script in the upper right. The caption along the lower border reads 'Der Kinderauszug anno 1284 zu Hameln.' |
