Two full-length vignettes of medieval rulers occupy columned niches flanking the central panel: Holy Roman Emperor Heinrich IV (1056–1106) at left and Emperor Lothar (1125–1137) at right, each identified by name and regnal dates below; motto inscriptions in Gothic script reading "VIELE WISSEN VIEL – SICH SELBST KENNT NIEMAND" and "HÖR AUCH DEN ANDERN TEIL" appear on the respective pillars.
