| Obverse description | Plain, unadorned central field enclosed by a finely executed inner ring of raised beads, itself surrounded by an outer beaded border near the rim. The circular legend HESEPER TORFWERK, separated by a six-pointed star on the left, arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while G.M.B.H. MEPPEN, preceded by a star on the right, completes the inscription along the lower arc. The field bears no pictorial device, the entire design relying solely on the typographic legend and decorative beaded borders characteristic of German notgeld token coinage of the early Weimar period. |

| Reverse description | The central field features a large, bold numeral '50' prominently struck in raised relief, occupying the majority of the inner field. The upper arc of the coin bears the legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (meaning 'small change substitute token'), flanked by a six-pointed star at each extremity, while the lower arc carries the denomination inscription PFENNIG, also flanked by stars. The entire central area is framed by a continuous inner beaded ring and a matching outer beaded border at the rim, consistent with the obverse design and typical of utilitarian Weimar-era notgeld issues. |
