Obverse description A beaded border runs along the inner rim, encircling the municipal coat of arms of Marktleuthen at centre, which features a quartered shield surmounted by a crown and displaying a rampant lion amid stylised floral charges. The date 19 17 is divided and positioned to the left and right of the shield respectively. The circular legend MARKTGEMEINDE above and MARKTLEUTHEN below arcs around the central device, reading continuously within the beaded rim.
