| 背面描述 | Left-facing draped bust portrait of the German poet and playwright Friedrich Schiller, rendered in fine neoclassical relief. The subject is depicted with flowing hair tied at the nape and characteristic period costume with a cravat. The name 'SCHILLER' appears as an inscription in the lower left field beneath the portrait. The overall design is set against a plain, unadorned field. |

Marbach am Neckar issued this notgeld piece in 1921 primarily to exploit its status as Schiller's birthplace — a commercial motivation as much as a monetary one. The postwar small-change shortage gave hundreds of German municipalities license to issue emergency coinage, but Marbach leaned into its literary tourism harder than most, producing collector-targeted aluminium pieces that often circulated more in dealer cabinets than in local shops.
The Funck 316.3 designation places this among the catalogued varieties distinguished by minor die differences. Aluminium was the default emergency coinage metal by 1921, with zinc and iron largely exhausted from wartime requisitioning.
