| Beschrijving keerzijde | The legend KLEINGELDERSATZ (meaning small change substitute) arcs along the upper portion of the field in raised Latin capital letters. The large, bold numeral 50, rendered with fine horizontal line engraving within the digits, dominates the central field as the denomination. The date 1917 appears in small raised numerals along the lower margin. The reverse is framed by the same square flan with rounded corners and continuous beaded border as the obverse. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Ludwigsburg issued these iron Notgeld pieces in 1917 as wartime metal requisitioning stripped municipal administrations of their copper and nickel supplies. Iron was the default fallback — cheap, abundant from domestic production, and officially sanctioned by the German imperial government's emergency coinage decrees. The material was deeply unpopular in circulation; iron corrodes aggressively in pocket wear, and surviving examples in any respectable condition are genuinely scarce as a result.
