| Obverse description | Polychrome Notgeld vignette framed by an elaborate border of illustrated conifer branches with red pine cones. At centre, the Thuringian heraldic lion passant on a blue shield; flanking the shield, large Gothic numeral '50' appears twice. Below the shield, a small landscape vignette of Leuchtenburg castle is set into the lower margin. Handwritten date '15 Juni 1921' and the signature of the Burgwirt Georg Okage appear at lower right, alongside the issuing authority text. |

A large circular central vignette presents a panoramic aerial view of Burg Lauenstein set amid forested hills; below the vignette, the Thuringian lion shield appears as an underprint. The denomination '50 Pfennig' in Gothic script is placed to the left, with the series and group designations 'Serie III' and 'Gruppe C' in cartouches at upper left and upper right respectively. Two poetic quatrains in German script flank the central vignette, and the printer's imprint of J. P. Himmer, Augsburg is set in a small panel at the foot of the note. |
