The Landeskrieger-Verband was a veterans' association — one of hundreds of such organizations that proliferated across Germany after 1918, many of which issued their own notgeld to raise funds and cover operating costs during the hyperinflationary slide of the early Weimar years. This Lübeck chapter's 50 Pfennig note falls squarely into that category: a localized scrip with a civic backer rather than a municipal treasury behind it.
The DeNG reference places it within the fifth variant of the 0825.1 series, suggesting the association issued multiple design runs — not unusual for groups that used notgeld sales as a recurring revenue stream targeting collectors as much as circulating users.
