Obverse description A full-width colour vignette occupies the upper two-thirds of the note, presenting a perspective view down the main road of the Lichtenhorst prisoner-of-war camp, flanked by rows of red-roofed barracks, telegraph poles, a narrow-gauge railway track, and tree-lined grounds; a street sign reading 'v.Weyne Str.' is visible at left and a canteen building at right. The denomination '50 Pfennig' appears in framed panels at the upper left and upper right corners, with the place name 'Lichtenhorst' in bold Gothic lettering across the top. The lower panel carries the camp voucher text and bears a manuscript signature of the canteen administrator, the whole enclosed in a decorative border of alternating red and gold oval ornaments.

Reverse description A colour lithographic vignette fills the central field, illustrating a scene of war-prisoner land-clearance labour: uniformed figures in blue greatcoats are engaged in burning brushwood in a flat, wintry landscape, with large columns of smoke and flame rising against a pale sky and a distant treeline; bare deciduous trees border the left edge. The caption 'Kultur-Arbeit der Kriegsgefangenen' is inscribed in Roman type across the upper portion of the vignette. The same decorative border of alternating red and gold oval ornaments as on the obverse frames the entire reverse.
