| Reverse description | Printed in deep red and grey tones, the reverse places two full-length carved stone-style figures of Cistercian monks on pedestals at the left and right margins, identified by inscriptions below as S. Benedictus and S. Bernardus respectively. Between them, a central panel set within a decorative border with red dot ornaments carries stanzas 3 and 4 of the poem 'Der Mönch zu Heisterbach' by Wolfgang Müller von Königswinter, with the bold blackletter legend 'Heisterbach im Siebengebirge' occupying the lower portion of the note. |
