Obverse description Light blue ground with a decorative border enclosing ten vignettes arranged in two rows, each set within a shaped cartouche on a red ground and illustrating the stages of a woman's life as animals after the satirical artwork by Moritz von Schwind at the Wartburg: from a chick (10 years) and dove (20 years) through magpie, peacock, and hen (30–50 years), to goose, vulture, owl, bat, and a skull with serpents (60–100 years). A bold title inscription runs along the upper margin and a disclaimer in Gothic script along the lower margin states this note was issued for collectors and not intended for general circulation, with the issuer's signature 'K. Schwalbe' and 'EISENACH' at foot, and the printer's imprint at lower right.
