Obverse description Decorative beaded outer rim enclosing a solid raised circle, within which appears a frontal view of the Hamm city hall (Rathaus) rendered in detailed relief. The legend STADT • HAMM • WESTF. arcs along the upper portion of the inner circle, with RATHAUS inscribed below the building. The initials C•K appear in the lower field, likely denoting the designer or die-cutter. The octagonal flan gives the piece a distinctly utilitarian notgeld character consistent with wartime emergency coinage.

Reverse description Decorative beaded outer rim enclosing a solid raised circle, within which the municipal coat of arms of Hamm is displayed prominently in the upper field. The denomination 50 is centered in the middle of the inner circle, with the split date 19 and 19 flanking the numeral on either side, and the die or variety mark 6L appearing in the lower field. The composition and layout are typical of German municipal notgeld emergency coinage of the immediate post-World War I period.
