Reverse description A raised pearl border runs along the outer edge of the octagonal flan, with an inner pearl ring defining the central field. The denomination numeral 50 is rendered in large, bold relief characters dominating the entire central field. The date 1918 is inscribed in smaller characters along the lower portion of the field, between the inner pearl ring and the base of the numeral, with no additional legend or device present. The design is stark and utilitarian, consistent with wartime emergency coinage production.
