| Obverse description | A raised pearl border frames the outer edge of the octagonal flan, within which a circular pearl ring encloses the central device. The municipal coat of arms of Guben occupies the center, depicting a crenellated city gate with two flanking towers surmounted by a crown, with three small escutcheons displayed at the base of the gatehouse, and decorative scrollwork to either side. The circumscribed legend in Latin characters reads KRIEGSNOTGELD DER STADT GUBEN, distributed around the pearl circle. Three small ornamental rosette stops appear at the base of the legend, below the inner pearl ring. |
