正面描述 Green-tinted note with a leafy vine underprint across the left two-thirds of the face. The denomination '50' appears in large bold numerals at upper left, with the text 'Gutschein über Pfennig' alongside and 'Stadt Ahrweiler.' at the top. A circular official town seal is printed at centre, and a redemption clause in small Gothic letterpress text occupies the lower left quadrant. At right, a tall intaglio-style vignette set within an arched frame portrays a full-length figure of Konrad von Blankart in 16th-century costume, captioned 'KONRAD VON BLANKART AHRWEILER 1561.' The issue date 'AHRWEILER, 15. August 1921.' and the Bürgermeister's manuscript signature appear at lower centre, with a red serial number at lower left.

备注

Ahrweiler's 1921 Pfennig notgeld came out of the same postwar paper shortage and coin hoarding crisis that pushed hundreds of German municipalities into emergency currency production. Carl Schleicher & Schüll in Düren was one of the more capable regional printers handling this volume work — a paper manufacturer first, printer second, which made them a logical choice when the material itself was as scarce as the money it represented.

The watermark security feature is notable for notgeld of this denomination, where most issuers cut costs wherever possible. Its presence here suggests either a standing order with Schleicher & Schüll's watermarked stock or a deliberate attempt to discourage local counterfeiting.
