| 表面の説明 | Octagonal zinc notgeld token with a continuous pearl border following the eight-sided periphery. A circular inner beaded ring frames the central field, within which the large numeral '50' appears in bold raised relief, denoting the denomination. The circumferential legend reads 'ARBEITERKOMPAGNIE' across the upper arc and 'GRAFENWÖHR' across the lower arc, separated by two small six-pointed star ornaments at either side. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, consistent with wartime emergency coinage produced for the Grafenwöhr labor company. |

Grafenwöhr has been a German military training ground since 1907, and the Arbeiterkompagnie — a labor company attached to the garrison — issued this zinc token to manage internal purchasing within a closed military-economic environment. Zinc was the material of necessity: by the First World War, copper and nickel had been redirected to the war effort, and garrison scrip of this type filled the gap left by vanishing official small change. These pieces rarely left the camp economy.
