A large oval vignette rendered in fine line engraving presents a panoramic townscape of Prüm dominated by the towers of the former Benedictine abbey. A decorative gilt ribbon banner arches across the top of the composition bearing the commemorative inscription marking the 1200th anniversary of the Abbey and City of Prüm (721–1921).
