| Obverse description | Central field displays the large denomination numeral '50' in bold relief. Surrounding the numeral, the circular legend 'STADT FRANKENTHAL' is inscribed in Gothic script, reading from lower left to upper right. The date '1919' appears at the bottom of the field. Two sprigs of oak leaves flank the lower portion of the design, one at each side, lending a decorative heraldic quality typical of German notgeld coinage of the period. |
