| 正面铭文 | STADT ★ DINSLAKEN ★ |
| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the large numeral 50 prominently at center, serving as the denomination indicator. The circular legend KRIEGSGELD 1917 runs along the upper arc, with the word PFENNIG inscribed along the lower arc, the latter flanked by raised dots on either side. The entire design is contained within a continuous pearl border, consistent with the obverse treatment. |

Dinslaken's 1917 zinc notgeld issue belongs to the first wave of municipally authorized emergency coinage produced across Germany after the wartime metal requisitions stripped copper and nickel from civilian circulation. Zinc was the compromise — abundant enough to mint, unpopular enough that the military hadn't yet commandeered it wholesale.
The Funck reference places this among the better-documented Westphalian municipal pieces, with die varieties tracked across the Men catalogues reflecting successive restrikings as the original shortage dragged well past initial projections.
