Obverse description The octagonal flan is bordered by a continuous pearl rim. Within a raised circular border, the city's coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned Madonna and Child standing between two flanking towers, with small heraldic lily motifs (fleurs-de-lis) in the upper field. The circular Latin legend surrounding the coat of arms reads MAGISTRAT DER STADT DEUTSCH-EYLAU, separated by six-pointed star stops.

Reverse description The octagonal reverse is bordered by a continuous pearl rim encircling the entire field. A secondary inner pearl circle frames the central denomination numeral 50, rendered in large raised figures. The circular legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (small change substitute token) runs between the outer pearl rim and the inner pearl circle, with the date 1916/17 appearing below the central numeral, flanked by star stops.
