Flanking the central scene are two vertical panels: at left, a medieval warrior figure labelled 'Alt-Braunschweig', and at right, a female allegorical figure labelled 'Alt-Stadtmarkt'. Inscriptions in Low German dialect run along all four borders of the central vignette, with the denomination '50 PF' repeated in the upper corners. |
