| Описание лицевой стороны | The centre of the note is occupied by the full-colour coat of arms of Schleiz — a quartered shield in gold and teal bearing a red bison passant, surmounted by a blue tournament helmet with a red bull as crest — set within an elaborate dark cartouche of acanthus and baroque scrollwork with gilt highlights. Circular denomination panels at left and right each read '50 Pfennig' within the legend 'STADT · SCHLEIZ', against a fine lozenge-pattern guilloche underprint that fills the entire field. The lower portion carries a three-line Gothic-script text establishing the note's validity conditions, dated 'Schleiz, den 1. 12. 1921', and signed by the Stadtgemeindevorstand. |

Schleiz issued this Böttger series notgeld in 1921 as part of the wave of municipal emergency currency that flooded Thuringia during the hyperinflationary spiral of the early Weimar years. Johann Friedrich Böttger — the Saxon alchemist who became the first European to produce true hard-paste porcelain — had a direct connection to the region, and Schleiz's choice to theme a notgeld series around him was locally deliberate, not decorative tourism.
The print date of 30 April 1945 is almost certainly a cataloging or data error — that date falls at the final collapse of the Third Reich, a context entirely incompatible with 1921 Weimar notgeld production.
